2024 Incentive Trip
Day in Barcelona – May 18, 2024
Many of you may have been to Barcelona before, but for those of you who have not, you are in for a real treat. Whether you like to eat, site see, or just wander you will find something special in Barcelona! May 18th in Barcelona is entirely on your own. I will be at the hospitality desk until about 2:00 pm or so, but then I am planning on taking in some of the wonders the city has to offer myself!
Some of the recommended points of interest are:
- La Sagrada Familia
- Park Güell
- Casa Batlló
- Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic)
- Milà House (Casa Milà/La Pedrera)
- Passeig de Gracia
- Port Olímpic
- Las Ramblas
- Barcelona Cathedral (Catedral de Barcelona)
- Montserrat Mountain
- El Born
- Montjuïc Castle (Castell de Montjuïc)
- La Boqueria (Market)
A good choice to fit in as much site seeing as possible is to do a Hop on Hop off bus. With 4 routes to choose from, you can pick the route that gives you access to what you are most interested in seeing. I like the route that gives you access to all of the Gaudi sites: La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, etc! Beware of the drop off for Park Guell – the hike to the park was a bit unexpected – there is a good hike to the entrance – all uphill! Also – if you do plan on Park Guell – ensure you purchase tickets in advance as park entrance often sells out!
There are numerous Food & Drink or Art & Culture tours as well. You can easily access them by simply either going to Viator and entering in Barcelona and the date you want to tour or typing Top 10 Things to do in Barcelona and select the option from Viator, Tripadvisor or GetYourGuide. You can book your excursions there.
If you feel adventurous and want to try something outside of Barcelona, you could try things like:
- From Barcelona: Penedes Vineyards Tour by 4WD w/wine and Cava! Winery tours and tastings!
- If you are a fan of Game of Thrones, you may want to try the Game of Thrones Tour in Girona.
- If you love the Beach, you may want to try a Costa Brava Day trip.
Of course, you can always wander La Ramblas, find a cute café on any one of the squares or side roads and enjoy Sangria, tapas or a plethora of drinks, treats and camaraderie!
